Job Description

Primary Duties

  • Manage written and verbal communications via phone, mail, marketing, & Emails
    • Edit and prepare weekly bulletins and other documents as needed
    • Produce monthly newsletters
    • Updates as needed
  • Order/maintain supplies and manage equipment for office
  • Manage schedules
  • Coordinate building rentals for special events
  • Organize/maintain filing system
  • Website and social media coordination
  • Manage and report data for weekly attendance and membership records
  • Assist Pastor with special projects

  • People skills are critical for this position in order to maintain an empathetic and compassionate culture in the office and for Covenant as a whole.
  • Individual will greet visitors and answer phone during office hours and act as liaison to the public on behalf of the church
  • Able to respect and support Covenant's vision, mission, and ministry (RCA/CRC)
  • Good interpersonal communication skills, can express ideas clearly, listen with sensitivity (including especially good telephone and reception etiquette)
  • Collaborate with volunteers to coordinate projects
  • Use tact, patience and diplomacy; capable and comfortable interacting with both the elderly and the youth
  • Exhibit compassion and acceptance when handling office communications, including complaints and problems
  • Must handle confidential and sensitive information discreetly and according to church protocol


The position is accountable directly to the Senior Pastor and will receive an annual evaluation from Pastor and HR Team representatives. This is a year-round part-time position of approximately 15 hours per week; preparing, organizing, and communicating material for each week’s events. Schedule will be determined with Pastor.
